Where have you been??

Well I’ve been in a mix of places really, mostly sleepy, due to the time of year & having well, deep thoughts about lots of things, which I was always going to have. But partally, just not in the right mood for content creation.

I have however spent lots of time with the PowerShell Team, as a member of 3 of the Working Groups, across the Cmdlets, Engine & Interactive User Experience.

This is something that whilst I highly enjoy, I may need to step back from this & the PowerShell repository in near future, however, until that is something I or the Team feel I need to do, then I shall be around doing bits there where I can.

So…. DocTypes?

DocTypes, is a GitHub repository that I am using to document a whole manner of different DocTypes whilst showcasing the power that having well integrated systems like GitHub can bring in helping you, not only make work visible but bring a number of different teachable moments.

Some of those already have been documented, like the [Interaction Notes Family]

So whats in the name?

I’m all for clever word plays, but this one, well it’s nice and simple and to the point.

It was gonna be ProjectDocs, and then I realised there was more to it and wanted no to limit my scope with this project, particularly due to the areas that it is being used for reasearch purposes and more so to probe that I know waht I am talking about & can document things properly in line for me in time looking to study multiple different courses of education in the future.

But what about Re-Initialise… or Job Searching?

This should be seen as an extension of me showing my worth to any future short/mid/long term employer, whether that be directly me employing me, or me working with another/multiple organisations.

It also arguably could be a Re-Initalise project. However, I am still in process of working out what Re-Initalise will do, something that isn’t finalised, and is on a minor hiatus, whilst other more pressing things, like organising & recording 24 hours worth of content for may 10th the Derby PowerShell UK & Global Azure Gathering 2025

I mean, by prioritising, at this time, a joint PowerShell & Azure event, is what many would say is not the right thing to do, however, to me, it will always show that, when I say to myself to JFDI I actually end up saying JFDIDR! and getting it done.

Though, granted I could, trawl through job listings that are so abysmal that they Turn me right off by totally and utterly boring me.

But also, I’m building a Presentation about JobSearching & treating it like a Project. It just happens to be, I’ve chosen to de-prioritise that project, for things like this.

That and my health and my enjoyment of life will always come above and beyond that of searching for something where I may quickly find the role really is not for me.

Also there are other personal & family reasons why at this time, my time is much better spent being flexible like this, not to say that the right role, with the right org, isn’t out there, but it’s gonna have to meet a really, really high bar & support me, in the way that quite frankly, I deserve to be supported.

So, if reading this you think, you may have something that works for me, be wary, I’m not your 9-5 Mon-Fri kinda guy. 128 clocked in hours at McDonalds in 1 week as part of 6 months of 60+ hours clocked in, most over 80 hours, or holding down 2 jobs or running community events around work, is just part of who I am, as its IN MY DNA.

DocTypes Goals

Honestly, the key goals are that of having fun, learning so that I can utilise things better, whilst being able to have more things that I can talk & present about, as well as guide others through via consultancy, whether that be internally facing or externally facing.

But most importantly, to help me in find my own Flow State and get the content that I have planned across a number of channels actually up and going now that I feel sorta settled in this home.

Closing Notes

It’s been an interesting last few years to say the least, with having to Re-Initialise and start again after Covid, after, Cancer taking my Dad suddenly, after being burnt out and well, fed right up & needing to do some really deep recharging after that and being made homeless too.

So, well, those that know me, & especially those that either worked closely with me directly, or had input from me in their work in the last 10 years will know, and I think is one of the greatest compliments I’ve ever recieved, is that My passion for community is infectious, and well, that passion is back, and whilst it has been The Longest Road and I really am burning for you & shining bright like a diamond & once again I feel like, my hero Ichigo, that I have unlocked my Bankai & that once again I am Number One
